A painting inspired by the emotional evolution of life itself. We are showing the moments before our ability to rise and stand before that very thing that we must face in the hardest of times. This is the moment before we determine what path we will choose. Will we choose to stay neutral until we find the strength within to fight? Do we choose to surrender to what stands before us? Or do we choose to stand and fight back, to take back our path and not allow others to do the choosing? It's the moment we feel our most broken, but it's also the moment that we start to muster up that strength to persevere. This painting has many symbols that inspire strength within it. The landmarks of Scotland symbolize my heritage and the strength of my ancestors. The moon in the ocean represents the broken emotions we felt in this state of mind. The cutout of the moon symbolizes still having the answers to how we can find a way back. The Knight symbolizes playing chess in life and determining what to do next.
