Henry walked into the cooler and looked over the project he had just acquired. “Wow, looks like I've got my work cut out for me, that’s for sure."
He started clearing the pallets that were falling apart. Underneath was a particularly hard-to-remove pallet. It felt like it was glued to the floor. He walked back to the warehouse and grabbed the electric pallet jack to help remove it, nearly breaking the sturdy jack in the process.
“Whoa! What’s this underneath? Looks like an underground tunnel!”
Frogs suddenly rushed out of the opening, causing the cooler to fill with noise.
He dropped down into the hole and followed it through to the bottom level. It was boiling hot, and he started to peel back his layers as he moved further down the path. He came to a fiery lake in the center of an open room, more frogs circled around it and stood still. In the center of the lake was a statue. It was a statue of a cat with a staff. A jewel fell from the top of the staff part, and the frogs parted to allow it to fall to the ground. Henry walked over to investigate further; it seemed to be a normal stone, it looked like a ruby.
It began to shake, and the frogs fell to the ground, then vanished into red smoke, and fell back down to the ground as rubies.
“What is this?” he questioned.
He cautiously grabbed a handful of rubies to see what would happen, but nothing happened... they were still just a pile of rubies. He shoved them in his pocket, walked out of the hole, and covered it up with the pallet.
"Are you good?" the manager asked.
"Yup, just peachy," Henry replied.
He got home after his shift and set the rubies out on the table. That night he dreamt about frogs filling his house, and everywhere he went there were frogs. He awoke to the sound of the phone.
"Hi, is this Henry?" the person on the other side asked.
"Why, yes, it is. Who is this?" Henry replied.
"We have a package for you. We just dropped it off at your door."
Henry opened the door and there stood a huge package, shaped like a frog. "I'm sorry, but what is this?!" he giggled to himself.
He opened the package there and inside it was a ruby frog. “Umm, this is too much! Is this a prank now?! What the hell is with all the frogs?”, he laughed.
He looked closer at it and there was something inside of it. It was his daughter. “Oh my God, what… I can’t believe it, but she’s been gone for so long.”
He reached inside with no problems and pulled her out. She looked up at him and hugged him. “Daddy, I’m home!”
